Emax Veneers

Emax Veneers

Emax veneers are one of porcelain custom-made solutions: a very thin, custom-made shell of slightly translucent lithium disilicate glass ceramic veneers bonded to the front surface of your tooth to improve the aesthetics of your smile. It is a porcelain that increases durability without using metal or zirconium infrastructure to obtain baking glass ceramic on a pressed ceramic crystal core under pressure. eMax veneers can be used for aesthetic purposes as they are a fast, effective and durable solution to revamp your smile and in cases where cutting teeth, cuspid teeth and small teeth need to be coated. However, eMax bridge prostheses can be applied only on missing teeth.

Advantages:

  • Because of their translucency, they look very natural and have a unique quality of blending with your real teeth.
  • Has a high translucence and aesthetic quality providing a natural tooth shade.
  • Does not weaken or damage the tooth structure as no tooth etching or drilling is required.
  • A stronger and more secure bond to tooth enamel than dentin-bonding.
  • Minimal tooth reshaping and preparation time required, so patients receive their veneers faster.
  • Minimizes sensitivity in teeth and less likely to chip when in contact with the opposite arch of the teeth.
  • Prevents the formation of tartar and stain to a great extent. Long-lasting results with durability and strength and can last between 10 and 15 years with proper dental care and oral hygiene.

Disadvantages:

  • They are ultra-thin which can make them chip or fracture easily.
  • Irreversible
  • Due to their high translucency, this porcelain isn’t that great at covering dark teeth.
  • Due to its low flexural strength, porcelain veneers are rarely used for bridges. Anything beyond a one tooth bridge is considered ill-advised, and it won’t take the torsional forces of a longer bridge.

Procedure of getting Emax Veneers:

At the initial visit, the dental clinician will evaluate your bite and facial features, tooth structure to make an oral impression, used to sculpt the veneers at the lab. You can also choose the color of the veneers that best match your natural teeth and voice your concerns and discuss any changes to your shade, shape, or size with your dentist before sending the design to the lab.

The first step in the procedure is that dentists will remove a small bit of enamel from each tooth to create a space for the veneer to bond and not to obstruct the patient’s bite; the thin layer on the natural tooth structure is then removed, and the dental model is created using classical or digital systems. Temporary veneers are prepared and applied while the patient waits for the permanent ones.

Finally, when the permanent custom-made ones are ready, the bonding process will begin. The dentist will apply an acidic gel which dissolves minerals on the surface of each tooth so that there will be a rough surface for the veneer to bond solidly. Cementing the veneers with dental resin cement in place is a quick process that involves a special light to speed the hardening process. Once the veneers are set, they will be bonded to the patient’s teeth within minutes and patients can also choose to use a local anesthetic to reduce any risk of pain.
